Searching for Text or Headings π
1. Text Search
Example: Imagine you’re working on a lengthy report, and you need to find a specific term or phrase.
- Click inside the Navigation Pane’s search bar (it says ‘Search Document’ β you can’t miss it!).
- Type the wordΒ
- As you type, Word will automatically locate and highlight each occurrence in the Navigation Pane.
2. Headings Navigation
Example: You’re working on a thesis with multiple chapters, and you want to jump between sections.
- If your document has headings (like “Chapter 1” or “Conclusion”), the Navigation Pane is your golden ticket.
- Click on a heading in the Navigation Pane, and Word will instantly take you to that section in your document.
Navigating Pages π
Example: You’re proofreading a lengthy manuscript and want to skip to a specific page.
- Click the ‘Pages’ button in the Navigation Pane.
- Enter the page number you want to go to and press ‘Enter.’ You’ll be zapped to that page instantly.
