Creating Multiple Godowns:
- Open TallyPrime: Launch TallyPrime and select the company for which you want to set up multiple godowns.
- Create Godowns: After enabling multiple godowns, you can create different godowns as follows:
- Go to “Gateway of Tally.”
- Select “Create”
- Choose “Godowns” or “Locations” from the list of inventory masters.
- Creating a Godown: In the “Godown Creation” screen, provide the following details for each godown you want to create:
- Name: Enter the name of the godown or warehouse.
- Under: Select the appropriate “Group” under which the godown should be categorized.
- Address: Enter the physical address of the godown.
- Pincode: Specify the pincode or postal code.
- State: Choose the state where the godown is located.
- Save: After entering the details for a godown, press
Ctrl + A
or click on the “Accept” button to save the godown information.
Using Multiple Godowns in Transactions:
Once you have created multiple godowns, you can use them in various transactions like stock receipts, stock issues, purchase orders, sales invoices, and more. Here’s how you can specify godowns in transactions:
- When you create or edit a transaction (e.g., purchase invoice or sales invoice), you will see an option to select the godown from which the stock is being issued or received.
- In the item details section, look for a column that allows you to select the godown.
- Choose the appropriate godown from the list for each item in the transaction.
- Complete the transaction as usual and save it.
You can also generate reports that provide insights into the stock movement and availability in different godowns as needed.
