by Deleting a ledger in Tally Prime is a simple process, but it should be done with caution as deleting a ledger will also delete all the transactions associated with it.
1. Open Tally Prime and go to the Gateway of Tally.
2. Click “Alter” and then select “Ledgers.”
3. Select the ledger that you want to delete from the list of ledgers then press enter.
4. Press the “Alt + D” shortcut key or select “Delete” from the “Edit” menu.

Got > Alter > Ledger > Choose Ledger
Step 2 Click on ledger
Step 3 select ledger which you want to alter
Step 4 Make changes which you want. here name edited
- Press the “Alt + D” shortcut key or select “Delete” from the “Edit” menu.
- Tally Prime will prompt you to confirm that you want to delete the ledger. If you are sure that you want to delete the ledger, select “Yes.”
- Tally Prime will then ask you to confirm the deletion of the ledger’s transactions. If you want to delete the transactions associated with the ledger, select “Yes.”
It’s important to note that once a ledger is deleted, it cannot be restored. Therefore, it’s recommended to take a backup of your data before deleting any ledgers
