Menus are one of the most important parts of a website. They help visitors easily navigate between pages and content. In WordPress, you can also create menus with posts. This is useful if you want to highlight certain blog posts or articles directly in your website’s menu.
Step 1: Log in to Your WordPress Dashboard
- Go to your website’s URL and log in with your username and password.
- Once logged in, you will be taken to your WordPress dashboard.
Step 2: Access the Menu Settings
- From the WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance > Menus.
- This section lets you create, edit, and manage all your menus.
Step 3: Create a New Menu
- If you don’t already have a menu, click Create a New Menu.
- Give your menu a name (e.g., “Blog Menu” or “Featured Posts”).
- Click the Create Menu button.
Step 4: Add Posts to Your Menu
- Find the Posts Section
- On the left side of the screen, you will see different options like Pages, Categories, and Custom Links.
- Scroll down and find the Posts section. Here, you will see a list of your blog posts.
- Select the Posts
- To add posts to your menu, simply check the box next to the posts you want to feature in the menu.
- After selecting the posts, click Add to Menu.
- Arrange the Posts
- Once added, you can change the order of the posts by dragging them up or down in the menu structure.
- Place them in the order that makes sense for your site visitors.

Step 6: Review Your Menu
- Check Your Website
- Go to your website and see if the posts you added now appear in the menu.
- You should see the posts listed as menu items. When visitors click on them, they will be directed to the full post.
- Make Changes if Needed
- If you want to add or remove posts, go back to Appearance > Menus.
- You can rearrange the posts, add more, or remove them by clicking the dropdown arrow next to the menu item and clicking Remove.
Optional: Adding Custom Links to Posts
Sometimes, you may want to add specific blog posts or external URLs directly to your menu. Here’s how to do it:
- Add Custom Links
- In the left-hand menu section, click Custom Links.
- Enter the URL of the post you want to link to and give it a label (e.g., “Latest Post”).
- Click Add to Menu to include the custom link in your menu.
- Add Categories to Your Menu
- If you want to add entire categories of posts, go to the Categories section on the left.
- Select the categories you want to add and click Add to Menu.
