Excel Quick Access Toolbar

Quick Access Toolbar is a customizable toolbar that allows users to access frequently used commands with just a single click, By default, this toolbar contains a few commonly used commands such as Save, Undo, and Redo.

 

Customizing the Quick Access Toolbar

1. Adding Commands:

To add commands to the Quick Access Toolbar, follow these simple steps:

  1. Click on the dropdown arrow at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar.
  2. Select the desired command from the list or click on “More Commands” to explore additional options.
  3. Click “OK” to add the selected command to the Quick Access Toolbar.

 

2. Removing Commands:

To remove commands from the Quick Access Toolbar:

  1. Click the dropdown arrow at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar.
  2. Right-click on the command you wish to remove.
  3. Select “Remove from Quick Access Toolbar.”

 

3. Customizing the Placement:

Users can choose to position the Quick Access Toolbar above or below the ribbon. To change the placement:

  1. Click the dropdown arrow at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar.
  2. Select “Show Quick Access Toolbar Below the Ribbon” or “Show Quick Access Toolbar Above the Ribbon” based on your preference.

 

4. Exporting and Importing Customizations:

Excel allows users to export their customized Quick Access Toolbar settings for use on other computers or to share with colleagues. To export or import customizations:

  1. Click the dropdown arrow at the end of the Quick Access Toolbar.
  2. Select “Customize Quick Access Toolbar.”
  3. Choose “Import/Export” and follow the on-screen instructions.
