Creating 1st Website -WordPress on Local Server

Then, click on the download button and download WordPress.

Step 6 – After downloading WordPress, locate the zip file. Go to the folder where you installed XAMPP, and inside it, you will find a folder named “htdocs.” Extract the WordPress zip file into this “htdocs” folder. (In this case, I have installed it on the D drive.)

Step 7 – After going to the drive, find the XAMPP folder, click on it, and open it. Inside the XAMPP folder, you will see many other folders.

Now, only open the “htdocs” folder; there is no need to touch any other folder. Paste the zip file that you copied into this folder, then extract it here. You can also rename the extracted folder if you wish.

Step 11 – Open the URL http://localhost/phpmyadmin in your browser. This will open the phpMyAdmin panel. Here, the data will be stored. Now, click on the “New” button to create a new database. You only need to enter the database name and then click on the “Create” button.

After that, you don’t need to do anything further in the phpMyAdmin panel. You can close it if you like. To install WordPress on the local server, you need to create a database with a specific name.

Step 12 – Open the URL http://localhost/ in your browser. After opening the URL, you will need to choose the language and then click on “Next” to proceed with the next steps.

Step 13 – Setup

• Username: root
• Password: (Leave this field empty)
• Database Host: localhost (No need to change this)
• Table Prefix: wp_ (No need to change this either)

After filling in the information, click on the Submit button.

Step 14 – Here, you need to fill in some information.

• Site Title: Your website title (Enter the title name of your website)
• Username: Set a login username (This username will be used when you log in later)
• Password: Set a password (This will also be used for login)
• Your Email: Fill in your email address (Enter your email ID here)

After filling in all these details, click on the Submit button.

Install on Localhost

After clicking the Submit button, WordPress will be successfully installed on your local server. Now, you need to log in. To log in, use the username and password that you provided during the installation process.

This way, you can easily install WordPress on a local server successfully.
