Stock Summery in TallyPrime

In TallyPrime, the “Stock Summary” is a report that provides a snapshot of your inventory’s current status. It offers information about the quantities and values of items in your stock, making it a valuable tool for inventory management. The Stock Summary report helps you monitor your stock levels, assess the value of your inventory, and make informed decisions about purchasing, sales, and reordering.

Here’s how to generate a Stock Summary report in TallyPrime:

  1. Open TallyPrime: Launch TallyPrime and open the company for which you want to generate the Stock Summary report.
  2. Go to Reports: Navigate to the “Gateway of Tally.”
  3. Select Display More Report: From the Gateway of Tally, select “Display More Report” from the main menu.
  4. Access Stock Summary: Under “Display More Report,” you will see a list of reports. Look for “Stock Summary” and select it.
  5. Configure Report Parameters:
    • After selecting “Stock Summary,” TallyPrime will prompt you to configure the report based on your requirements.
    • You can filter the report by different criteria such as stock group, stock category, location (godown), and more. Select the options that are relevant to your needs.
    • You can also specify the date range for the report to display the stock summary for a specific period if necessary.
  6. View and Print Report:
    • Once you’ve configured the report parameters, press Enter or click on “Show” to generate the Stock Summary report.
    • The report will display information about each item in your inventory, including the opening balance, inward movement (purchases), outward movement (sales), and closing balance for the specified criteria.
    • You can scroll through the report to view details for each item, and you can also print or export the report if needed.
  7. Customize the Report:
    • TallyPrime provides options to customize the report further. You can press Alt + F12 to access the report customization menu, where you can change the report’s appearance and add additional columns or information as required.
  8. Export Data (Optional):
    • If you need to export the data to other formats, such as Excel or PDF, you can do so by using the export options available in TallyPrime.

By generating and regularly reviewing the Stock Summary report in TallyPrime, you can gain insights into the movement and value of your inventory, track stock levels across different locations (godowns), and make informed decisions regarding reordering, pricing, and stock management.
